Editorial Policy

Our focus
We aim to publish clear, practical explanations of SRD status checks, payment information, application details and appeal routes. The homepage guide is organised around tasks a reader may need to complete after receiving a result.
Sources and context
We aim to support consequential statements with the relevant SASSA, Department of Social Development or other responsible public-authority source. A source’s date matters. Historical documents should be identified when old grant amounts, terminology or instructions could affect the reader’s understanding.
Facts, explanations and individual results
We distinguish a published rule or schedule from our explanation of it and from an applicant’s own returned result. We do not invent an approval, decline reason, payment date or appeal outcome when a service has not supplied one. A general article cannot establish an individual’s entitlement.
Updates and corrections
We review guidance when we identify a relevant change or an error. A review date should reflect an actual content review, rather than imply a new official announcement. Readers can report an issue through the Contact page, ideally with the page URL, the disputed wording and a link to an official source.
Tools and drafting assistance
Tools, including automated drafting tools, may assist with preparation or formatting. Their output is not a substitute for checking official sources. A statement should not be published as verified merely because a tool generated it.
Commercial separation
Advertising, if displayed, should be distinguishable from editorial guidance and the status form. Advertising should not be presented as an application requirement, a payment route or an official instruction. We do not promise grant outcomes as part of the website’s content.
Reader feedback
Website feedback concerns our content and functionality. Grant applications, record corrections and appeals must go through the responsible public service. Please do not include a full ID number, PIN, OTP or bank information when reporting an editorial problem.
