SASSA Status Pending: What to Check Next

A pending result means verification has not been completed. It is not a payment date. Read the month beside the result before deciding what to do next.

Read the result for the correct month

On our homepage, open the monthly result you need. The first returned month opens automatically; select another month to expand it. Record the exact outcome and any reason shown. If no monthly results are returned, the checker has not supplied a decision for you to interpret.

Separate a pending decision from a failed check

“Checking…” describes a request still running on this website. A connection error, timeout or “details could not be verified” message is not a pending application decision. Check your input if the details could not be verified; retry later if the service is unavailable.

What may still be checked?

In its 18 April 2023 explanation, SASSA described checks involving banking information, Home Affairs and UIF records. That statement explains pending verification; it does not give a completion date for your application.

Keep a useful record before asking for help

Write down the month, exact status, any reason and the date you checked. Keep these notes private. Ask SASSA which verification or action is outstanding for that month. A screenshot of an error screen cannot establish why an application is pending.
